Engineering and Construction Queensland (ECQ)

ECQ is a division of Pacific Marine Group, which was formed to expand the company through the provision of civil services to the mining and construction industries.

ECQ has had extensive exper-ience in a wide variety of marine construction projects, ranging from building wharfs and jetties to remedial maintenance of pontoons and pipelines. We carry out marine contracting throughout Queensland, Papua New Guinea and the Pacific Rim. We pride ourselves on our ability to carry out difficult jobs in minimum time.

ECQ build pontoons, barges, walkways and any other steel and aluminium products that are required for marine projects. Part of our scope of work is often the installation of these products. We also carry out contractual, on-site abrasive blasting and coating.

A list of some of the larger projects which ECQ has carried out include:

	Design and fabrication of modular pontoon for MIM in Mt Isa to house three pumps to pump water from Lake Moondarra to Mt Isa
	Project management of Australian Army’s 10th Regiment facilities including – Wharf’s buildings, sheet piling and floating plant
	Fabrication of two 40 metre x 90 tonne chimneys
	On-site work and erection of the above chimneys on Lihir Island (Papua New Guinea)
	Manufacture of steel tank farm for Madang (Papua New Guinea)
	Design, fabrication and installation of marina equipment
	Fabrication of aluminium and steel barges and pontoons
	Repair and upgrade of wharves including supply and installation of piles
	Rebuilding of dredge pipe valves
	Full fabrication of pipe lay system, including stinger frame, for Magnetic Island’s new 500mm diameter MDPE water pipeline
