PMG have recently completed a number of upgrades to 2 x tourist pontoons operated by Cruise Whitsundays at Knuckle and Hardy Reefs off the Whitsundays. The works completed involved 3 weeks on site and utilised 2 tugs (Pride and Harmony), 2 barges (PMG122 and PMG150), cranes, mooring recovery winches and a large team of topside staff and divers. Some of the many tasks completed included moorings being recovered / upgraded / relocated, new mooring chain attachment lugs added to pontoons below the waterline (requiring the use of coffer dams and ballasting), steelwork topside repairs and painting, pontoon towage and relocation. Very trying weather conditions were experienced on site but some rare good days were found inbetween.
