PMG has recently been awarded a contract with GBRMPA to cull Crown of Thorns Starfish on a number of priority reefs in the Townsville- Mackay region. A customised 24m aluminium catamaran set up as a liveaboard vessel to support the contract has been purchased.
Onboard the vessel will be 12 divers, a Project Manager and 3 marine crew who will be undertaking a continuing series of 10 day voyages over the next 12 months.
Trip 1 has departed today, headed for John Brewer Reef, 38nm of the coast of Townsville.
