Abbot Point MOF Completed

PMG have recently completed construction of a new MOF (Materials Offloading Facility) at Abbot Point for North Queensland Bulk Ports.

The project was a design and construct, and involved construction of a new facility over the top of an old failing sheetpiled structure.

The works involved construction of a new Roll On Roll Off Ramp, sheetpiled berth, light vessel jetty, barge and boat ramp, Rock armouring, Crane Pad for the berth, cyclone moorings, pavement and hardstand areas.

PMG181 – a 54m x 18m flat top barge barge fitted with 2 x 900mm diameter spuds and a 100T crawler crane, was used for the piling works and heavy marine lifts.

PMG once again utilised most of our departments on this successful project – Construction, Marine, Dive, Project Management, Fabrication, Blast and Paint, Logistics and Management. We were also supported by some great local subcontractors including Hillery Group, Pilchers and RPS Group.
