The end of an era was realised yesterday with PMG's very 1st tug, the "AR Ford", leaving Australia for good. She has been sold to Silentworld in the Solomons, who plan to keep her working long into the future. It was quite fitting that her final tow was to tow the barge "Captain Tom" back to the Solomons. "Captain Tom" was Seaswift's very 1st barge, and Silentworld have also purchased the barge.
Both these vessels have played a big part in shaping PMG and Seaswift into the successful companies they are today, so quite a bit of NQ maritime history has sailed away for the last time.
