Our 42T Bollard Pull ocean going tug "Tukang" recently returned from Fiji.
The job was to transport a 24m ex. Army Landing Craft from Townsville to Totoka Islands in Fiji.
Rather than free tow the landing craft, for safety/seaworthy reasons we opted to place the landing craft on the deck of one of our 120ft flat top barges, and tow the whole assembly.
The barge bas loaded and lashed at our Townsville facility.
The trip was around 4000NM return and involved a few extra days in Fiji waiting for Tropical Cyclone Pam to move on before the tug returned home safely.
The job went well and the client received their cargo in quick time.
