Palm Island Jetty Upgrade

PMG have just completed a successful upgrade to the Palm Island Jetty.

A new pontoon was added to allow better access for ferry passengers, and aluminium wheelchair compliant ramps were installed to access this pontoon. New piles and aluminium jetty access platforms were added to allow this, and we also did some modifications to the existing barge ramp fender piles while we were there. A new jetty shelter was also prefabricated and installed. Lots of challenges to be overcome but the crew led by Eddie and Tom did a fantastic job and the product is great.

Lots of PMG plant involved in the project including AR Ford, Sheerlegs, PMG121, Sailfish, our road transportable pontoons, Port of Townsville's workboat Ticehurst and drag barge pontoon, and PMG's new Dawson 4500 piling hammer. A great job in a beautiful location. Thanks to Palm Island Council for the work.
