It was an early Easter Treat for our POMSSUP Ocean Outfall team this week with the sinking of the 240m full assembled diffuser string.
This represents a significant project milestone and the way in which it was achieved was a testament to the meticulous planning of processes, controls, safety and input from consultants ARUP, as well as personnel on site.
With additional personnel on site to oversee the operation, every aspect of the process from towing to positioning and sinking was completed to plan. In particular, the input from John Davis leading the Pacific Towing dive team was instrumental to this operation and ensured a positive outcome for our client. A great effort by Dave Harper and team which should set the standard for the remainder of site works to complete the outfall pipeline.
