Tateyama Maru Removed From Water

After successfully salvaging the Tateyama Maru from Gloucester Island in the Whitsundays earlier in the month, PMG have just completed removal of the vessel from the water in Townsville.

The job required removal of around 100T of steel and concrete to get the vessel within the range of Rosshaven Marine's travel lift, which is located next door to PMG's marine facility in Townsville. This has been a very well planned and executed process, made more difficult by the extremely hot temperatures being experienced at the moment in Townsville. PMG's in house boilermakers , and cranes and logistics teams have performed this task professionally and safely.

Our resident salvage master Col Wood always likes to finish the year on a successful high profile salvage (last year it was the Defender salvage - coming out of the water 2 days before Christmas) and he has done it once again this year. Thanks to all the PMG team involved in this job.
