Tsunami Buoy Deployment in the Tasman Sea

On the 6th of March 2015 Pacific Marine Group's ever reliable and versatile offshore utility vessel PMG Pride departed Townsville to commence an exciting and challenging mission for the Bureau of Meteorology in the Tasman Sea.

The purpose of the mission was to transport B.O.M. personnel and equipment to the powerful Tasman Sea to conduct tsunami buoy replacement and maintenance. PMG Pride and crew used the quaint port of Bluff in New Zealand as a staging base to complete the mission. Throughout the mission the weather was often poor and the seas angry however, the PMG crew applied their renowned "can do" attitude and got the job done on time, safely and effectively.

During the project 3 buoys were deployed using PMG Pride's 10T luffing A Frame.
